Chocolate Cookie Recipe

We made cookies today and I made some chocolate cookies. Here is the recipe with some pictures of the ones I made. ( The recipe is in Ballymaloe cookbook.) (( I have halved this recipe so I had the right amount of cookies.))


Here is is:

Makes about 36-40 depending on size.

225g (8oz) butter

200g (7oz) brown sugar

175g (6oz) caster sugar

2 eggs, beaten

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract ( I do not use this)

350g (12oz) plain white flour

1 level teaspoon baking powder

1 level teaspoon bicarbonate soda
 (bread soda)

pinch of salt

150g (5oz) chocolate chips

110g (4oz) chopped nuts

Preheat the oven to 180 C/350 F/gas 4.

Cream butter, add sugars, and beat until light and fluffy. Add the egg bit at a time and then the vanilla extract. mix the dry ingredients and fold them in. Lastly add the chocolate chips and chopped nuts.

Divide the mixture into 7g (1/4oz) pieces for teeny weeny cookies or 25g (1oz) for medium cookies or 50g (2oz) for American style cookies on a baking sheet. Remember to allow lots of room for spreading. Bake for about 8-10 minuets depending on size.



Cool for a few minuets on the tray and then transfer to a wire rack. Store in an air tight container.


This recipe is NOT the halved one!

Well today I am going to sing some carols at the local church.

Along time ago...

Today Lottie and I went out and looked at the chickens. Our Chickens are called:

Shampoo
Emily
Rose
Burrito
Measles
Champagne
Flynn 
 
We chased Champagne around and it was quite funny to watch.  They are really good at going round and round in circles.We also counted how many mole traps there are. There are 7. They love food and Lottie always gives them lots.

 Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year to yo all!!!!!!!!!!! I hope you had a good Christmas. ( That is if you celebrate it! ) And I know this is late but I did not find it until now! I got tons of presents!

Snow!! And Homework!!!

Well because there is supposed to be 10 - 15 cm of snow here we might not be going to school... Which is nice but also not nice. But I will have more time for homework!! For homework we have to do:

1. In the News - weather conditions
2. Neweddion Nadolig (Christmas news in Welsh :(:(:( )
   
3. Evacuation and rationing

School is fun and I have to do a WWII project that is due on March the 19th!!! I LOVE projects!

School

School is going really well. We just did our plays and had a great time. I am singing in the church next Saturday. Welsh is REALLY hard.

I am reading Catching Fire. I just read Jacky Daydream which is the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have not had homework for soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo long! I made a Christmas decoration and it is a white bauble with red and green sequins and some holly and berries in the middle.

I know this is short but I could not think of what to write.

Our Saturday in Welsh and English! :)

 Bore Dydd Sadwern Es i i Hay on Why gyda Mama, Dad, Moriah, Dominic, Hugo, chwaer o'r enw Lottie , a ffrind o'r enw Mila. Gwelias i mynyddoedd. Bwytais wyau wedi'u ffrio a bacwn, a yfais i dwr. Prynais llyfrau a darllen. Roedd hi'n oer. Ces i amser da.

Dyma fy Mila ffrind:   Hi! Emilia yn siarad am yr hyn y gwnaethon ni ddoe, ond dyma beth a wnaethom heddiw. Rydym yn dringo i fyny mynydd a elwir Mynydd y Bwrdd. Mae bron lladd fi ar y ffordd i fyny! Pan fyddwn yn mynd i fyny, rydym yn rhedeg o gwmpas wich yn iawn hwyl ac yn bwyta pasteiod porc a Kit-kats. Y daith i lawr yn llawer haws! Pan ddaethom yn ôl, buom yn edrych ar pen y cyw iâr i weld bod Shampoo, cyw iâr, wedi patrwm yr wy! Yna rydym yn eu pobi 'cookies' a chwarae ar y cyfrifiadur. Roedd yn hwyl! Hwyl! Mila

 

In English:  Hi! Emilia is talking about what we did yesterday, but here's what we did today. We climb up a mountain called Table Mountain. It almost killed me on the way up! When we go up, we're running around whimper is very fun and eat pork pies and Kit-kats. The trip down was much easier! When we came back, we looked at the pen to see that Shampoo chicken, chicken, the egg has a pattern! Then we baked cookies and playing on the computer. It was fun! Fun! Mila

 

 

Or:   On Saturday morning I went to Hay on Why with Mama, Daddy, Moriah, Dominic, Hugo,  my little sister called Lottie, and my friend called Mila. We saw  mountains. I ate fried eggs and bacon, and I drank water at lunch. I bought books and read them. It was cold. I had a good time.
