I HATE peeling potatoes!

Last night I made dinner. Mama and Daddy decided to make me and Lottie make dinner on Fridays so that was what we did. We made Sausages and Mash with onion gravy. Well Mama did the gravy but anyway I am going to tell you how it turned out.

I learned a couple things from making dinner like the fact that...

I HATE peeling potatoes!(hence the title!)

The reason I hate peeling potatoes because that you have to hold the peeler with a "good grip" (as Mama said) that is uncomfortable, it takes forever, and you have to hold the potato weirdly!

The sausages were quite easy, because all we did was put them in a pan and bung them in the oven! Lottie liked stabbing the potatoes and I did a few.

Dinner was very fun to make, and was very nice!

How to make a Duck Tape flower!

Stuff you need:

Duck tape is SUPER COOL! In this blog post I am going to show you how to make a duck tape flower!

Get a length of Duck Tape that is about 15 in long.

How to make a Duck Tape flower!

 Cut it into 15 pieces.

Take the piece and fold one of the corners down.

Fold the corner opposite down so that there is only a bit of sticky tape at the bottom.

Take your first one and roll it up.

Stick all the other pieces round it so you form a flower shape.

You have made a flower!

Eco Week!

On the 29th of April, Eco week started. Eco week is a whole week where we do lots of activities. On the Monday, Thursday, and Friday we did stuff with our classes, and on Tuesday and Wednesday we got split into random groups and do activities all over the grounds.

  Monday:
On Monday we started Eco Week off by all bringing in a healthy breakfast and eating it outside. Then we did different activities with our classes. I made mini pizzas, saw a storyteller, and watched a theatre performance.

  Tuesday:
On Tuesday it was a grounds day, meaning that we were in different groups. I was with one of the Y6 teachers. The activities I did that day were Willow Weaving, Weather Station, Pop Bottle Greenhouse, and Brecon Night Sky. I had a great day!

   Wednesday:
On Wednesday I was in the same group as yesterday, and the activities I did on Wednesday were Zip wire, Sports Stars, Newport Wetlands, and Parachute. It was just as fun as Tuesday!

   Thursday:
On Thursday it was another day with our classes. I did Bees, Skipping, Music, and lots of singing! It was very different from the other days!

   Friday:
On Friday Y6 and Y5 walked up Table Mountain. It was a 1 and a half mile walk up, and the same down. Lots of things happened! First my friend twisted her ankle, and then we took forever to get to the top because of her ankle. I then twisted my ankle on the way down! I loved going up Table Mountain!

Eco Week was my first, and last one, and I thoroughly enjoyed my self. I wish I could do it again, but next year I am in High School! YAY!

Moving house.

We moved house! Lottie and my bedroom is really cool. We have a wall that is pink and a wall that is green. We have a library corner, and we each have a area with our desks and beds. I have a nice new bed and sheep lights hang from it. They are so CUTE! Lottie has flower lights. The chickens are fine. We have baby lambs in the field across from us and they are super cute. The kitchen is full of red and we are getting the sofas today.  Me and Daddy built two chests of draws for me and Lottie. I helped a little on the third. We had missing pieces so we had to send one back to IKEA. I love our new house. Me and my friends are doing a Cake Sale for Comic Relief!

Thanks

Hello and My school trip.

HAPPY HALF TERM. That is if you are British.  We are slowly moving house and today we painted a wall of our bedroom. HAPPY PANCAKE DAY.  I went on a REALLY fun school trip. We are studying WWII so we went to a museum and saw some artifacts. We did some role play and learnt about the Blitz. I had to dress as an evacuee and brought food that would have been available in my pack lunch. Talk later.

Chocolate Cookie Recipe

We made cookies today and I made some chocolate cookies. Here is the recipe with some pictures of the ones I made. ( The recipe is in Ballymaloe cookbook.) (( I have halved this recipe so I had the right amount of cookies.))

Here is is:

Makes about 36-40 depending on size.

225g (8oz) butter

200g (7oz) brown sugar

175g (6oz) caster sugar

2 eggs, beaten

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract ( I do not use this)

350g (12oz) plain white flour

1 level teaspoon baking powder

1 level teaspoon bicarbonate soda
 (bread soda)

pinch of salt

150g (5oz) chocolate chips

110g (4oz) chopped nuts

Preheat the oven to 180 C/350 F/gas 4.

Cream butter, add sugars, and beat until light and fluffy. Add the egg bit at a time and then the vanilla extract. mix the dry ingredients and fold them in. Lastly add the chocolate chips and chopped nuts.

Divide the mixture into 7g (1/4oz) pieces for teeny weeny cookies or 25g (1oz) for medium cookies or 50g (2oz) for American style cookies on a baking sheet. Remember to allow lots of room for spreading. Bake for about 8-10 minuets depending on size.

Cool for a few minuets on the tray and then transfer to a wire rack. Store in an air tight container.

This recipe is NOT the halved one!

Just out the oven...

The mix when it is ready to be shaped.

Nice after lunch snack!

On the wire rack...

And again a REALLY long time ago!

Well today I am going to sing some carols at the local church.

Along time ago...

Today Lottie and I went out and looked at the chickens. Our Chickens are called:

Shampoo
Emily
Rose
Burrito
Measles
Champagne
Flynn

We chased Champagne around and it was quite funny to watch.  They are really good at going round and round in circles. We also counted how many mole traps there are. There are 7. They love food and Lottie always gives them lots.
