School

School is going really well. We just did our plays and had a great time. I am singing in the church next Saturday. Welsh is REALLY hard.

I am reading Catching Fire. I just read Jacky Daydream which is the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have not had homework for soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo long! I made a Christmas decoration and it is a white bauble with red and green sequins and some holly and berries in the middle.

I know this is short but I could not think of what to write.

Our Saturday in Welsh and English! :)

 Bore Dydd Sadwern Es i i Hay on Why gyda Mama, Dad, Moriah, Dominic, Hugo, chwaer o'r enw Lottie , a ffrind o'r enw Mila. Gwelias i mynyddoedd. Bwytais wyau wedi'u ffrio a bacwn, a yfais i dwr. Prynais llyfrau a darllen. Roedd hi'n oer. Ces i amser da.

Dyma fy Mila ffrind:   Hi! Emilia yn siarad am yr hyn y gwnaethon ni ddoe, ond dyma beth a wnaethom heddiw. Rydym yn dringo i fyny mynydd a elwir Mynydd y Bwrdd. Mae bron lladd fi ar y ffordd i fyny! Pan fyddwn yn mynd i fyny, rydym yn rhedeg o gwmpas wich yn iawn hwyl ac yn bwyta pasteiod porc a Kit-kats. Y daith i lawr yn llawer haws! In English:  Hi! Emilia is talking about what we did yesterday, but here's what we did today. We climb up a mountain called Table Mountain. It almost killed me on the way up! When we go up, we're running around whimper is very fun and eat pork pies and Kit-kats. The trip down was much easier! When we came back, we looked at the pen to see that Shampoo chicken, chicken, the egg has a pattern! Then we baked cookies and playing on the computer. It was fun! Fun! Mila

 

 

Or:   On Saturday morning I went to Hay on Why with Mama, Daddy, Moriah, Dominic, Hugo,  my little sister called Lottie, and my friend called Mila. We saw  mountains. I ate fried eggs and bacon, and I drank water at lunch. I bought books and read them. It was cold. I had a good time.

Netball!!

Hello

Yesterday I played in my first Netball match. There was a Tag Rugby match at the same place and time. We won BOTH matches! For Netball it was 14-2 and Tag Rugby it was 13-12. We played away matches against a different school nearby. I was Goal Keeper for three of the quarters. I was off on the last one.

We are doing a school play and I am going to be Warm up person 2. I have to be dressed very brightly, and hold up cue cards. We are doing the play Cinderella, Rockerfella! My friend is Rockerfella. I will tell you about Matilda later. bye

My life so far these past few days

I am now on Pinterest and it is very cool. My life is still boring and I am not having too much of a lively week. But now I will be going to see my Grandma so it will a bit more of a funner week!

Hello!!!!!

Hello
We are on Half term right now and I have a new favorite word.

Scrumtiolastic:  Something that is delicious, scrumtious, and fantastic all at one time!

Nothing new is happening. Well other than finishing swimming lessons. Our homework over half term is to study bread. We will be making it next Monday so I think that is why. I handed in my River Project and I hope th teacher likes it!

Where We now live

 We are now living in a house instead of staying with friends. I have got my own room with a double bed,desk,bedside table, and a cupboard. It is a nice house and we have to look after about 8 sheep,and two chickens. It is not bad considering we were staying with 50 something chickens, 20 alpaca, a turkey, a dog, and two cats! It was fun but tiring staying where we were staying and I am glad we now are living somewhere else. Yesterday we went and saw our second cousins. We had lunch and then we all played sardines. Then me and the older two cousins played Cludo. We also printed out some pictures for my river project. We had a great weekend and today we are going to clean and go to Waitrose. We are also going to speak to our friends in San Francisco.

My life at the moment

Now that I am in Y6 everybody just talks about boys. These are some frequently asked questions:

And it is all driving me MAD!

And there are lots of girls fighting so right now my brain wont function properly.

And I am panicking that my river project wont be finished in time.

Argh

I HATE my life!

I am sorry I have not been posting much but I have been very busy. I have alot of homework, a river project due next week,piano,netball,swimming,and more. I will try and keep blogging but it wont be every day.

More On the Colorado River

Here is some more on the Colorado River:

The headwaters of the Colorado River begin at La Padre Pass Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. The elevation of this lake is approximately 9,000 feet (2,750 m). This is a significant point in the geography of the United States because it is where the Continental Divide meets the Colorado River drainage basin.

At La Padre Pass Lake the beginning of a big river starts.


Here is a poem about this river at its start.

Drip,Drop,Drip,Drop
I see a little stream run out this lake,
I follow it,
Slowly it gets bigger and bigger
It goes down slopes and through many places
But I never knew that this stream was a river,
A river that is one of the most famous in the USA
But when I found out I followed it
All the way to the Ocean.


This river is famous for many reasons but when you go to La Padre Pass Lake you see the beginning of a huge and famous river. The Colorado begins it's flow south westward toward the Gulf of California and the Pacific Ocean. By the time the river enters the Grand Canyon, at Lee's Ferry, its altitude has fallen to 3,110 feet, dropping over one mile since its beginning. The river will drop another 2,200 feet before it reaches the other end of the Grand Canyon, the Grand Wash Cliffs, 277 miles away.

The Colorado River

As a project for school we have to study a river. We got to pick the river and then write a project on it. I picked the Colorado River. I wrote an intro and have done the front cover. Today I wrote some of the basic information. I wrote:

The Colorado River

The Colorado River is located in Colorado, Utah, Arizona, Nevada, and California. It is the principal river of the south-western United States and north-western Mexico. It is 1450 miles long (2330 km). It starts in Colorado and ends in Baja California (Mexico). This river supplies more that 2.5 million people water and irrigates 3.5 million acres of farm land. This river eroded the Grand Canyon. The Grand Canyon is located in Arizona and is one of the biggest tourist sites in the world. Many people go and see this wonderful place watching the river flow by. But there are many other places other than the Grand Canyon of course!This river has many tributaries which are: Gila River, Colorado River Aqueduct, Virgin River, Little River, San Juan River, and the Green River. If you would like to know more about this river then read on!

Homework!

I have been moaning and moaning about how little homework we get. Now I am not. We have things called Learning objectives which tells us what we have to do. So we had five and we where supposed to pick which ones we wanted to do ( two of them) but we could pick them all. So I did. They where:

To explore the water cycle

To explore the features of a river

To find examples of instructions

To write instructions

To find out how we move

And we had some multiplication so I was busy throughout the week

Although I did complete it!

Next time I wont do quite as much though!

Hay-on-Why

Well on the 26th of August of Granny and Grandpa came to see us before the went to Africa on Holiday. We decided to go to Hay On Why on that day because it was going to be my birthday treat but because Daddy was working on my birthday so we went then.  So we got in a car and drove to Hay-on-Wye. We got there at about lunchtime so we went and had lunch at a place called Shepherds. I had a mozzarella and some rocket in a pita. Then we went to Richard Booths book shop which is huge and my favourite. We got a million books there. So many they did not charge us for the cloth bags! Then we went and got another 10 books in another place. We went and had a ice cream from shepherds. My flavour was mint just like Lottie!

I had a great day because I absolutely LOVE books!

Getting here

Hmm

San Francisco,Portland,Seattle,Yellowstone,Custer,Iowa,Chicago,New York,Nova Scotia and then where??

Wales!!!!!!!!!

So we got on an aeroplane and flew to Iceland where we stopped for three hours. I had an ear ache so I was in pain and could not sleep so I was in pain and tired. Our first plane took off a 10:00 so I was really tired. We got to Iceland at 2:30 in the morning for us 5:30 for them! Then we waited and took of on another flight. This one was better beacuse I had an pill so I was felling better. I still did not sleep. We got of the plane and took a taxi to our Grandmas house. We had lunch and I had an hour and a half sleep - which was way less than I wanted. we had dinner and went to bed. The next morning we drove to where we would be staying in Wales. We saw them for an day and then they left for France on a holiday. We had animals to look after. I did the cats, Lottie the Chickens, Mama the alpaca, Daddy the Guinea pigs (which is a laugh!).so we were back back at home back in Wales and most importantly near Family again!
